Neighborhood Barre
Mobile App

Project description

MBWC was challenged to get the client’s customer communications and relationship-development needs developed into the app without going beyond the team’s budget.

Neighborhood Barre™ is owned and operated by Katy Richardson, a certified yoga instructor. She was first introduced to barre-based exercise in 2009 and has pursued her passion for the technique by studying and training in a variety of methods. Under Katy’s leadership, Neighborhood Barre™ provides a unique workout that combines the elements of dance conditioning, yoga, and isometric weight training to carve and sculpt the muscles of the arms, legs, seat, and abs. Neighborhood Barre won a contest that the MBWC digital team implemented in-house, with an original mobile app design-and-build as the prize. The digital team met with Katy to go over her “dream list” for the app, so the challenge was to get her customer communications and relationship-development needs developed into the app without going beyond the team’s own internally allocated budget of $10,500 in service value.

The Neighborhood Barre app had to provide the following:

Class Schedule/Pricing via MindBody integration; Push notifications for Promotions and Quick Tips; Body Profile (to include Height, Weight, Measurements – Bust, Waist, Arms, Hips, Thighs); Media Gallery for photos and videos; Wish List for apparel and DVDs; Message center for all push notifications; Connectivity to their social media platforms. Key audience was identified as current and potential clients, primarily women ages 25-45 who were fitness-minded. The app has so far received 595 active users.
